Story about happiness: Why some succeed with their dreams and others fail

Long ago, there lived a Sower of Dreams, a traveler who roamed over mountains and valleys, deserts and seas, planting dreams in the hearts of men and women across the earth. With each step, he scattered seeds of possibility, hoping they would take root and grow into something magnificent. One day, as he plodded along, some of these dreams slipped from his satchel and fell to the ground. Some landed among peasants, some among kings, some among women, and some among men. As the dreams settled, a few recipients lifted their heads, their eyes alight with newfound hope. Inspired, they set out to pursue their dreams, but as time passed, doubt crept into their minds. Who were they to think they could achieve such lofty aspirations? Were they not foolish to believe in something so grand? The weight of uncertainty became too heavy, and they abandoned their dreams, returning to the familiar routines of their lives. Others, however, embraced their dreams with love, care, and understanding. They nurtured them like fragile saplings, shielding them from the harsh winds of discouragement. As the dreams grew into adolescence, they demanded more time, more effort, and unwavering dedication. Faced with the hard work required, many dreamers faltered. “This isn’t fun anymore,” they lamented. “It’s too difficult.” And so, neglected and later abandoned entirely, these dreams withered and died.

Some dreams found stronger footing, falling upon eager hands and hopeful hearts. The dreamers tended to them with joy, believing they would surely see them to full fruition. But soon, they encountered the Grumblers, those who had once held dreams but had let them slip away. The Grumblers, filled with bitterness, sought to crush the dreams of others. They scoffed and ridiculed, whispering words of doubt into the ears of the hopeful. “You’ll never succeed,” they sneered. “Why waste your time?” For a while, the dreamers resisted, holding fast to their aspirations. But doubt, once planted, took root. Slowly, without even realizing it, they loosened their grip and, one by one, let their dreams slip away, forgotten in the dust of the road. Yet, beyond the mountains, hidden in a secluded valley, there were dreamers who refused to let go. They nurtured their dreams with patience and perseverance, tending to them with care through every storm and hardship. Their dreams flourished, growing into lush orchards that bore fruit sweeter than any had ever tasted. Merchants and travelers who passed through the valley marveled at the abundance, tasting the fruit and praising its richness. But when they learned of the years of dedication, the toil, and the sacrifices required to cultivate such a harvest, they shook their heads. “Too much effort,” they said. “Not worth the trouble.” And so they departed, choosing to admire from afar rather than grow dreams of their own. The valley remained, full of life and beauty, tended by those who understood the truth which is that dreams do not thrive by chance. They demand care, resilience, and faith. Those who embrace them wholeheartedly reap rewards that last a lifetime, while those who abandon them are left only with the bitter taste of regret.
