Funny story: Four people and three parachutes in a plain that is about to crash
It was a bright and peaceful Sunday afternoon when a doctor, a lawyer, a little boy, and a priest boarded a small private plane for a short flight. The sky was clear, and all seemed well until disaster struck. Suddenly, the engine sputtered, coughed, and then went silent. Panic set in as the plane began to plummet. The pilot fought desperately to regain control, but it was no use. Realizing the inevitable, he grabbed a parachute, turned to the passengers, and yelled, “The plane is going down! You all need to jump!” And with that, he leaped out, leaving the four passengers behind. Chaos erupted. There were only three parachutes and four people. Each person quickly realized that someone would have to stay behind.
The doctor, his face filled with urgency, lunged for a parachute. “I’m a doctor,” he declared. “I save lives, so I must live!” Without another word, he strapped on the parachute and leaped out of the plane. The lawyer, adjusting his tie, smirked. “I’m a lawyer,” he said confidently. “And lawyers are the smartest people in the world. My intelligence is too valuable to lose.” He snatched a parachute, secured it tightly, and jumped. That left only the priest and the little boy. The priest, his expression calm and full of wisdom turned to the boy and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. “My son,” he said softly, “I have lived a long and full life. You are young and have your whole future ahead of you. Take the last parachute, and live in peace.” The little boy looked up at the priest with a small smile and said, “Not to worry, Father. The smartest man in the world just took off with my backpack.” The priest blinked in surprise, then burst into laughter, realizing the irony of the situation. Together, they took the last two parachutes and safely descended to the ground.
Moral of the story:
- True intelligence is not about claiming to be the smartest, but about making wise and thoughtful decisions. Arrogance can lead to one’s downfall, while humility and kindness can lead to unexpected solutions.
