Funny story: How to successfully pass an interview

Once upon a time, at a highly respected business school known for its challenging admissions process, a panel of wise and experienced interviewers gathered to evaluate prospective students. These interviewers had spent many years selecting only the brightest minds, and they knew how to test not just knowledge, but also a student’s ability to think under pressure. On this particular day, a young student entered the interview room. His heart was racing, and his palms were slightly sweaty. He knew this interview could determine his future. He sat down cautiously on the chair before the panel. One of the interviewers, with a kind yet firm voice, said, “Young man, we have a unique approach here. We will give you a choice. You can either answer ten easy questions or just one very difficult question. Choose wisely because your choice will determine whether you are admitted into our school.” The boy took a deep breath. He knew answering ten easy questions might be safer, but he also realized that answering one difficult question could show his confidence and cleverness. He thought carefully before responding. “I would like to answer the one difficult question, sir,” the boy said with a steady voice.

The panel exchanged knowing glances and smiled slightly. They admired his bravery. “Very well,” said another interviewer. “You have chosen the path of challenge. Here is your question. What comes first, day or night?” The room fell silent. The boy felt his heart skip a beat. He knew this was a tricky question. It wasn’t simply about day or night, it was about how he reasoned his answer. He paused, thinking deeply. After a moment, he looked up with a slight smile. “It’s the day, sir.” The interviewer leaned forward, interested. “Oh? And how did you arrive at that conclusion?” The boy maintained his composure and replied, “Sir, you assured me I only needed to answer one difficult question. You just asked me another one.” The interview room erupted into laughter. The panel members were impressed. The boy had demonstrated quick thinking, confidence, and the ability to listen carefully to details, all qualities valued in a future business leader. The head interviewer nodded approvingly. “Very clever. You have passed the test. Welcome to our school.”
